The State of Nevada Public Information Officer Committee's JOINT INFORMATION
CENTER was organized to be able to respond quickly and effectively to
catastrophic events within the state.
During a crisis or disaster, accurate and timely information communicated to
the public can and does save lives. Combining the professionalism and skills
of public information officers from virtually every state agency, the JOINT
INFORMATION CENTER is dedicated to providing that valuable service to the
citizens of Nevada.
The JOINT INFORMATION CENTER is only activated on the authority of the
Governor during times of crisis.
